Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
Devotional: When you consider situations that you and I may find ourselves in that we simply cannot handle, today’s passage gives great insight. God comforts us in all our troubles so that we can then comfort others who are going through the same kind of troubles.
What is your deepest hurt? And how has God helped you through that? Is it possible that there is someone going through something similar that you can encourage? Just knowing that you’ve been there and you survived can be a great encouragement. God may very well want to use your suffering to help another through their suffering.
Will you let Him?
- Ask God to reveal to you someone who you can be a comfort to, then reach out to them in encouragement.
