Day 10 Been There

Isaiah 64:4 NLT For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for Him!

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. 

Devotion: We’ve been focusing our time this week on waiting; something most of us would rate at the bottom of our want-to-do list. But here’s an important truth: a waiting season isn't a wasted season if you continue to seek and trust God.

Today’s passages remind us that God can and will do beyond what we can ever ask or imagine. And He does so according to His power that is at work within us.  But sometimes (often times) that work involves us waiting upon Him. Trusting Him.  Yielding ourselves to Him.  

Do you remember the words of Jesus that we looked at on Day 1 this week?  “God is always working…”  As you are waiting, just imagine God is working. Consider the words in the song Waymaker that we sometimes sing together in worship: “Even when I don't see it, You're working. Even when I don't feel it, You're working. You never stop, You never stop working, you never stop, never stop working” (Osinachi Okoro). 

Friend, God NEVER stops working. And when you trust that in the deepest part of your soul, even in the most difficult of times, you can experience His peace, His purpose, and a future beyond what you can imagine.

  • How does that help you to remember to trust Him in your current or future times of waiting?
