Scripture: Proverbs 13:20 “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”
Devotional: Growing up, I remember often being reminded that the people I surrounded myself with mattered. Ultimately, who I spent time with impacted how I spent my time and how I acted. But this isn’t just a principle for kids and teens. The same is true for all of us.
Who we spend time with matters. And when it comes to pursing a life of purity, it is important that we surround ourselves with others who are doing the same. It is always good to have someone that is a little further down the road than you in this pursuit, as well as people who are at the same juncture as you and behind you. You can be encouraged by those in front of you and encourage those behind you. As the Scripture for today says, “Walk with the wise and become wise.” Iron sharpens iron. Sharpen one another. Surround yourself with the type of people that you want to emulate. Spur one another on in the pursuit of purity.
