Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
Devotion: “Look to your Father, because He is always faithful.”
We often here that the only thing guaranteed in life is change. Does that sentiment resonate with you? I know that I have experienced plenty of change in my life. From moving many times, getting married, unexpected career changes, and having kids, my life has consistently changed. I’m guessing yours is the same. Whether changes that you welcomed or changes that you were less than excited about, they came your way regardless. Even the person who loves change is bound to find a few times that life throws them a curveball that they would prefer to throw back.
But as much as change is a part of lives, it is not a part of God. God’s character is unchanging. And He is faithful. When it comes to finding freedom for your worries, one of the first places to look to is your Heavenly Father. When we reflect on His character, we can see that He has been, and always will be, faithful. Since He does not change, we can count on the same faithfulness that He showed to the Israelites to be the same faithfulness that He shows to us today.
So whenever you are worried about life, your relationships, your job, or what the next chapter will hold, turn to your Heavenly Father. You will see the picture of a steadfast, unwavering, faithful God who loves you and will be with you through it all.
Reflect:
- When thinking about what causes you worry, how does reflecting on the fact that your Heavenly Father is faithful help settle your worries?
