Day 25 Been There

April 02, 2025

Scripture: Philippians 1:6 … being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Devotion: God fully loves and fully accepts you just as you are, wounds and all. There are many emotions that accompany abuse, including guilt and shame. But you are not too far gone or too broken for your Heavenly Father. You can be confident that, out of His great love for you, He will continue the good work that He began in you. He will use you and every area of your life for His glory.

When you find yourself slipping into thoughts of unworthiness, remember it is not about what you can do or what others can do for you. It is not about what you have done or what others have done for you. It is about simply loving God and receiving His love, so that you can love others the same way that He loves you.

When you are on the path to healing, you can fully embrace His love. It is important to do so in order to heal well. Though healing is a process, God is there with you every step of the way. He will use every part of your story and redeem it. Slowly but surely, the love of God will overwhelm every area of your life. On the journey to healing, don’t minimize or detour around His love. Instead, recognize that the only way out is through His love.

Reflect:

  • How can you start to apply the love of God toward yourself and your life?
  • How does recognizing the truth of God’s love challenge the lies that you believe about who you are?
