OVERVIEW

The Kids Ministry/Special Needs Coordinator supports the planning, operating, and development of Sunnybrook Kids Ministry so that parents and kids can KNOW Jesus, GROW their faith, SERVE others, and SHARE God’s love.

The Special Needs portion of this role is responsible for developing, leading, and growing the special needs ministry at Sunnybrook Community Church. By cultivating a spirit of inclusiveness, this role ensures that our community with special needs is connected and guided into deeper levels of engagement and growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
1+ years of experience in ministry as a volunteer

As a full-time staff at Sunnybrook, this role provides eligibility for health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) plan, HSA plan, and our Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan (MERP), subject to plan terms. It also includes two weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) earned on an accrual basis and nine company-paid holidays. Full-time staff are required to work Christmas Eve and Easter Services and Sundays. Staff may take up to six Sundays off, using four hours of PTO each Sunday.

KIDS MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the Basecamp K-5^th grade ministry and assist the Kids Director in carrying out the mission of Sunnybrook Kids Ministry
Lead Sunday volunteer huddles that include training, community building, and team celebration
Grow, train, and equip a team of volunteers
Ensure environments are organized and prepped for kids and volunteers
Oversee curriculum,small group lessons, videos, large group teaching content, and special events
Utilize resources or create content for teaching, ministry promotion, volunteer opportunities, and parent engagement
Manage and create content for Sunnybrook Kids socials that will engage and inform families, equip parents to lead spiritually, highlight volunteers, and provide opportunities to serve
Other duties as assigned

SPECIAL NEEDS RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and cast vision for ministry
Provide support for Pre-K-5^th graders on Sundays and 6-12^th on Wednesday nights
Provide lessons and adaptations to volunteers in advance so they can anticipate needs and make changes
Ensure all policies and procedures are being met with excellence
Recruit, develop, and empower a team of volunteers
Build key leadership positions
Maintain Unlimited rooms, materials, and storage spaces
Oversee intake process, procurement of buddies, and ongoing communication with families
Manage Unlimited social media
Ensure annual spending is contained within the budget
Plan and oversee Unlimited special events
Other duties as assigned

Demonstrate spiritual maturity, be committed to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, and desire Christlikeness in personal character

Be a ministry partner by voicing concerns and disagreement respectfully, while following accepted relationships of responsibility, leadership, and team commitment
Be a member, or willing to become a member, of Sunnybrook Church and work under the direction of the Executive Team
Be fully aligned with and committed to the Vision, Values, and Beliefs of Sunnybrook Church
