Day 20 When God Doesn't Make Sense

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart

 and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

Devotional: There seems to be a common theme throughout this series as we’ve grappled with those times when God doesn’t make sense. 

At the end of the day, it all boils down to trust. Do you trust Him? 

If you struggle in this area, don’t be discouraged. Perhaps you’re like the father of the boy needing healing who said to Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). Certainly, that is one of the purest prayers a person can pray. 

And He is always faithful to answer a prayer like that.

• What things do you most need to entrust to God? Pray for the willingness and the resolve to trust Him in that today.
