Scripture: John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Devotional: As we think about the end times, it can be pretty overwhelming. Visions of apocalypse might run through your mind. But let me remind you that we do have some information on the end times, and it comes from the very Word of God. And the book from the Bible on end times, Revelation, is truly a story of hope.
You see, it is called “Revelation” because John, one of Jesus’ apostles, was given a revelation. Jesus revealed what is to come. Jesus had said that He would return, so He gave John a picture of what that will look like when He does. And while there are things about this revealing that are hard to wrap our heads around, we can be sure of one thing: in the end, Jesus wins. All sorrow, all death, and all evil will be done away with.
This means that any trouble, temptation, or trial that we face in this life will be wiped away when Jesus comes back. As our Scripture for today says, we should take heart, for Jesus has overcome the world!
